Viorel Udma advised companies in various fields, from agriculture (farming, distribution) and food processing (dairy, beverages) to communications (IT, communication infrastructure) and energy (oil and gas, and renewable energy). Prior to working for Accendo, he developed expertise in venture capital and advisory services for companies and municipalities in Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine. In 1999 he started and managed VMB Partners SA, the advisor that helped Romanian municipalities access financing through capital markets, by 2005 became no. 1 municipal financial advisor, with over 65% of all the bonds issued. VMB advised over 40 municipalities in their bonds issuing process, including Mangalia, Predeal, Alba-Iulia, Sebes, Bacau, and Aiud. During 1990s he worked as investment officer for Romanian American Enterprise Fund, executing and managing investments in consumer finance (Ralfi, bought by GE Capital), in digital prints and signage (A&M), precision industrial parts (Lasedo, now part of Groupe MIG-SFH France), and dairy products (Sorilact). Viorel holds an MBA in finance from Canadian MBA in Romania, a Master in Asset Management from University College Dublin, and an engineering degree in technological physics.
